Biography
My name is Kaila and I love biology! I was born and raised in Santa Cruz and I am a community college alumna! I grew up in the ocean and in nature -- surfing, swimming, diving, admiring kelp and fish, catching lizards and bugs. After attending Cabrillo College, I transferred to UC San Diego where I majored in Marine Biology. I then attended Scripps Institution of Oceanography for graduate school where I researched the deep sea! I discovered and described three new species of deep sea worms.
